Treating Male Yeast Infections

Treating Male Yeast Infections

Male yeast infection is not a myth; any man can suffer from it. But who would want to undergo from the trouble brought by this disease? They are itchy, throbbing, and sometimes smelly too. And the bad news is, there are a lot of ways you can get the disease. The infection is basically created by an overgrowth of yeast that is present on the body which may be triggered by the use antibiotics, unhygienic sex and through sexual intercourse with a woman who is already suffering from the problem. Yeast develops in a place where it is warm and moist therefore making women more susceptible with the infection. But remember though that when a man suffers from the problem, it should not be blamed on the woman because male yeast infection can just be a sign of more severe sexual problems.

Good thing unlike those of women, male yeast infection is easy to treat. In fact there are even home remedies that can be done all by yourself which can provide acceptable result in the end. One of the most widely use home remedies are apple cider vinegar that should be applied on the affected area as often a possible until the signs of the infection vanish. Garlic is also another treatment; just apply it on the area to clean up the infection. However since garlic is very potent when it comes to its antifungal effect, it is advised to dilute it with water first to prevent the stingy feel. If you rather want to settle with milder yet extremely helpful alternative, yoghurt may be the one right for you. There is something in yoghurt that replaces the bad bacteria. You can as well opt to use tea tree oil and oil of oregano. Drink a lot of water as much as possible to flash out the infection.

If these home remedies aren’t successful after all then your last option is to consult a doctor. He can prescribe you with other solutions like diaper rash creams because babies also go through yeast infection, also known as diaper rash and seeing the fact that the problem is a result of an imbalance in the body that permit naturally growing yeast to develop rapidly, oral antibiotics are one of the most effective remedy against the disease. Too often, the doctor will prescribe Diflucan (fluconazole) as well as Nizoral (ketaconazole) which attack the problem directly. Topical treatment can also be used which you need to apply directly to the penis like Monistat-7. But due to internal nature of male yeast infections, applying these creams is not always efficient and so when you cannot see the result right ahead, talk to your doctor so he can suggest other available treatment. And since it was said that prevention is always better than cure, it indeed extremely advisable to wear cotton underwear, practice clean sex all the time, drink a lot of water each day, and do not attempt to make love with someone suffering from it.
